A New Book on Climate and National Security

Enclosed is information about a new book on Climate and National Security. Since her time on Sam Nunn’s Senate staff, Sherri Goodman has worked on the climate and national security issue and is the best analyst I know. This will be a good book.  T

Dear Friend:

As you know, I have been working on a new book, Threat Multiplier: Climate, Military Leadership, and the Fight for Global Security and I’m happy to announce that it is finally available!

With it, I go inside the Pentagon and onto the battlefield to show how the US military is confronting one of the biggest security risks in global history: climate change. It distills the more than thirty years of my work educating a generation of US military and government officials about the links between climate change and security. It is a global journey where I show how the US military has transformed into a clean energy and climate leader, recognizing that a warming world exacerbates every threat.

I’ll be doing events across the country including in DC at the Atlantic Council with Ali Rogin from PBS Newshour on 9/9 and the Woodrow Wilson Center on 10/1, then in Boston at the Harvard Kennedy School on 9/16, and others. You’ll find a list here.
